Designers Heaven Studios was opened in May 2007 as a retail store in Spring Branch, Texas. The owner, Lori Nease, with her degree in fashion design, began selling local artist items as well as her own designs made from repurposed denim. One part of the studio was the retail, while the other part was alterations, custom work and giving sewing classes to young teens and adults.

After a few years in the retail business, Lori discovered her passion for sewing was to give others the knowledge and excitement she felt thru teaching others sewing. So she gave up the retail end of the company and is now focusing on custom clothes, home décor, alterations, and developing and instructing sewing classes.  In Lori's spare time, she still makes one-of-a-kind items repurposing denim under her label, Lori Kaye Designs.

The newest addition to sewing classes began January 2012 is for children 6-16 years old, called “Lori Kaye Kids Sewing Classes.” Lori is a licensed instructor of the Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design Program.  As a Girl Scout Troop leader for 7 years, she was able to teach about 20 Girl Scouts how to use a sewing machine and make quilts to earn their Sewing Badges.  During the past 4 years, she has held several classes teaching the young how to properly use their sewing machines, make pajama pants, tote bags and more.  For more information...
